Maths

I am a research fellow at the University of Manchester Department of mathematics.

I completed my PhD at the University of St Andrews, where I was part of the algebra & combinatorics research group.

My current research is on numerical invariants and generation of simple and almost simple groups.

I’m a slow but enthusiatic ultra runner. My favourite race was the Manchester to Liverpool 50 mile ultra which I did in 2022.

I’m currently studying for my level 3 in British Sign Language at Manchester Deaf Centre and slowly teaching myself Braille.
